The Medicines Distribution Centre (MDC) is at the heart of medicines supply for the whole of SECAmb. We pack an average of 60,000 medicines pouches per year for use by our operational crews in the 999 service.
You will provide specialist technical pharmacy expertise to SECAmb in order to improve the quality of patient care.
The successful candidate will also be instrumental in shaping delivery of education and training within the MDC.
To assist in the management of the MDC ensuring that packing of medicines is in line with best practice standards, including:
• Supporting the development of education and training within the MDC.
• Providing supervision and management of the Pharmacy Support Workers
• Proposing changes to working practices & procedures with consideration for impact on other areas
• Implementing policies
• Developing and implementing SOPs
• Supporting and overseeing projects as and when required,
• Promoting the image of SECAmb by working in accordance with our vision and values.

• Assist in the day to day running of medicine packing within the MDC to include organising staff rotas and allocate resources appropriately.

• Oversees all aspects of controlled drugs including ordering, safe storage, registers, record keeping, disposal and audits.
• Analyse medicines data to make informed purchasing decisions based on cost effectiveness of intervention.
• Develop and sustain productive working relationships with colleagues internally and externally to develop medicines optimisation and improved patient care.
• Manage and deal with several complex problem-solving issues around medicines
