Job summary
We are looking for an individual to work full time as a Surgical Clinical Practice Facilitator across the surgical division. In this role, you will provide high-level clinical skills training and education to our nursing workforce.
This is an active role, supporting the development and delivery of training and education to the registered and non-registered nursing team at ward level, ensuring a skilled and competent workforce.
You will deliver facilitation to registered and non-registered nursing teams in clinical practice and evaluate the quality of learning.
You will also develop, facilitate, deliver, and evaluate a range of pastoral support to all staff, especially in terms of supporting attendance, work anxiety, career progression, and personal stress, through acting as or referring to available support within the organization.

Main duties of the job
This role will support both registered and non-registered staff:
1. To promote a learning environment that ensures evidence-based practice and optimal service delivery by leading development and education at ward level.
2. To act as a specialist in education, clinical skills, and practice development.
3. To work closely with all staff involved in training and education, as well as other facilitators.
4. To support the delivery of education and development underpinned by the workforce strategy.
5. To collaborate with the ward manager in supporting the onboarding process for new staff.
6. To provide safe, timely, and efficient ward facilitation to all learners.
7. To liaise with the ward manager and lead the ward team, including practice supervisors/assessors, by supporting their learning.
8. To maintain accurate records of learning, development, skills training, and competency for each staff member.
9. To ensure staff have undertaken relevant training and are competent in using all equipment within the clinical area.
10. To create a ward-level learning environment focused on reducing risk and increasing learning through Human Factors and Simulation, in line with PSIRF.
