We are looking for an experienced Claims & Insurance Administrator to join our Team based in Borehamwood. You will have responsibility for handling our claims, supporting the team, and ensuring the Group is fully protected from insurable risk. You will serve as the primary point of contact for our valued clients, provide support to stakeholders within the business, and work closely with brokers and insurers in managing our claims. You will be delivering an effective claims service within OCU Group in accordance with relevant legislations, policies and internal procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Support the Claims & Insurance team with a range of general administrative tasks.
2. Opening and logging claims using our bespoke case management systems.
3. Managing, investigating, and processing claims in a timely manner.
4. Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
5. Conducting initial enquiries and investigations as appropriate with key business stakeholders.
6. Ensure a swift response in the settlement or dispute of claims.
7. Intervention process to support third party motor repairs and hire.
8. Full compliance with all financial transactions/accounts process.
9. Prepare statistical claims data and reports for both internal and external use.
10. Answering queries and providing information to Claimants, Insurers, Brokers, and Loss Adjusters as required.
11. Collating and organising data.
12. Filing of paper and electronic documents.
Skills & Experience
1. Previous customer service or office administration experience.
2. Strong IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
3. Full UK Car Licence.
4. Enthusiastic individual with a “can do” approach.
5. Strong communication skills and good telephone manner.
6. Ability to cope under pressure and respond to demands.
7. Adaptable to change and willingness to learn.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Good organisational approach.
10. Self-motivation and good use of initiative.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Proven track record of handling and defending claims.
Desirable Criteria
1. Insurance or Legal Experience.
2. Experience of claims management systems (training on company systems will be provided).
3. Some knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection laws.
