2. Identify, manage, and plan for obsolescence risks within control systems and hardware.
3. Develop, implement, and improve electrical control systems across the site.
4. Support repairs and modifications to plant and machinery control systems.
5. Diagnose faults on PLC controlled systems and variable speed drives.
6. Record and follow-up on all control-related faults and actions taken.
7. Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
8. Support Maintenance Manager with site compliance, audit readiness, and plant efficiency projects.
9. Provide technical support for control-related breakdowns, including support outside of normal working hours when required.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
1. Qualified in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (HNC / TEC Level or equivalent).
2. Proven experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or process industries.
3. Solid knowledge of PLC systems, automation, and variable speed drives.
4. Competent in electrical fault finding and reading circuit diagrams.
5. Experience with both single and three-phase power distribution and control systems.
6. Understanding of IEE Wiring Regulations & Electricity at Work Regulations.
Desirable:
1. Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar PLC systems.
2. Experience with process control (open & closed loop systems).
3. Knowledge of instrumentation, temperature, and flow control systems.
4. Hands-on experience of electrical installation work (traywork, SWA, conduit).
5. Experience with thyristor control, integrated circuits & electronic control circuits.
Some more details:
1. A key role within a well-established and growing food manufacturing business.
2. Opportunity to develop and progress your controls and automation skills.
