An exciting opportunity has arisen within Florence Nightingale Community Hospital for a Physiotherapy Assistant (30 hours per week) to become an integral part of Neurology Outpatient Therapy Services (NOTS).
If you thrive on working with others in a hands-on role whilst also working well independently to assist in the treatment of patients' activities of daily living, promote functional independence, and aid mobility issues, this may be the perfect role for you.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to manage your time effectively and must be passionate and enthusiastic about optimizing patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
This post will offer you the opportunity to develop your skills in this clinical field within a supportive Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) which may include Occupational Therapy, Clinical Neuropsychology, Neurosplinting, and Spasticity, in order to support neurology patients throughout different stages of their condition and rehabilitation. Your learning and development will be supported through completion of competency packages, regular supervision, and training.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of the Physiotherapist and neurological rehabilitation and should have relevant experience of moving and handling adults.
There will be a number of non-clinical and administrative duties to support the team, and a basic working knowledge of IT packages is essential.

Experience
* Basic IT knowledge and skills.
* Previous experience of working in a care setting.
* Evidence of experience in moving and handling.
* Previous experience in NHS and/or rehabilitation.
* Understanding of rehabilitation.
Skills
