Role Overview
As an Assessor/Trainer, you will support apprentices in developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in property maintenance and carpentry. You will work closely with learners and employers to ensure apprentices gain hands-on experience while meeting the requirements of their qualifications.
The role involves conducting workplace assessments, providing tailored support, and helping apprentices build their portfolios in preparation for end-point assessments. You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality teaching, assessment, and tracking of learner progress in line with industry and awarding body standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess and support apprentices in Property Maintenance and Carpentry through their qualifications.
2. Conduct workplace visits to assess skills, knowledge, and behaviours.
3. Deliver high-quality training and mentoring to ensure apprentices meet industry standards.
4. Work collaboratively with employers to ensure on-the-job training aligns with qualification requirements.
5. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support to apprentices.
6. Maintain accurate records of learner progress and assessment outcomes.
7. Ensure compliance with awarding body and quality assurance requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
1. A relevant Level 3 qualification in Property Maintenance, Carpentry, or a related field.
2. A Level 3 Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
3. Industry experience in property maintenance, carpentry, or a related trade.
4. Strong communication and organisational skills.
5. A passion for mentoring and supporting learners.
6. Knowledge of apprenticeship standards.
