I am working with a national civil engineering contractor who is looking to add a Project Planner to their infrastructure scheme in Hampshire. The role involves effective portfolio planning and programming of a civils project using P6 (Primavera 6). As the Project Planner, you will report to the Planning Manager and sit in meetings with the board of the project, ensuring that all planning procedures are implemented in accordance with programme strategy and client governance. What will make candidates stand out is their ability to liaise with the site team and understand TQs and realistic delays to projects, which will keep the programme as accurate as possible.
Responsibilities:
* Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the scheme without delays.
* Ensure the review of progress, forward planning, and lookahead programmes are carried out.
* Identify risks.
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans using P6, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and timelines.
* Ensure effective communication and collaboration between project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to assist with project planning and execution.
* Provide expert planning support and guidance on NEC contract requirements.
* Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.

The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree or certificate in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
* A UK driving license.
* Knowledge of NEC form of contracts.
* Experience of Primavera P6.
* Expert knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes.
* Experience of Earned Value Management desirable but not essential.
* Experience of working on civil engineering projects.
