The Client We are working with a prominent law firm that specialises in providing claims handling services on behalf of major professional indemnity insurers. The firm’s dedicated Claims Handling Team manages a variety of claims against professionals, offering a comprehensive service from initial notification through to resolution. This department plays an important role in supporting the firm's wider insurance practice. The Role As a Claims Handler, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of professional indemnity claims, working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver efficient, technical claims management. You will review claims, assist insured professionals, and negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits. This is a hybrid position based in the South West of England, with occasional travel required. Key Responsibilities Oversee a caseload of claims, ensuring thorough investigation and timely resolution. Work directly with insured professionals to handle complaints and claims, providing guidance and support. Negotiate settlements within pre-determined authority limits. Ensure compliance with insurer and internal performance standards. Maintain accurate case records and provide regular updates to clients. Identify and escalate risk trends to senior management. Play a role in contributing to overall client satisfaction through proactive claims management. About You Strong background in claims handling with experience in professional indemnity claims. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally. A proactive, commercially minded approach to claims management.
