During the day, the Support Worker will provide hands on care including personal care (washing, dressing and toileting), ongoing rehabilitation, assisting with domestic tasks and will help Patrick to access social and leisure activities at home and in his local and wider community. During the night, the Support Worker will assist Patrick to take his medication and get him ready for bed, attending to his care needs as required throughout out the night, which include making him comfortable and assisting with toileting requirements and managing his catheter., Our Case Managers work closely with our Clients, and we carry out all the recruitment processes on behalf of our Clients; and will support you, from your initial telephone interview right through to arranging employer interviews, trial shifts and placement. If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.

Introducing Patrick
Patrick, born in 1944, is looking for a Support Worker to join his existing 24-hour care team based in Gosport. Patrick sustained a brain injury in a road traffic collision in 2016. He lives in his own home with his wife and their shared family dog. Prior to his injury, Patrick achieved a black belt in Karate and he has attended Karate classes for the last 45 years and he remains an active member of his local karate club today. Patrick would describe himself as friendly, talkative and jokey! He enjoys meeting his neighbour, meeting up with friends/family, going shopping and attending his local Headway group. Patrick uses a wheeled Zimmer frame to get around indoors with close supervision and an attendant wheelchair outside with a battery pack for assistance. He requires supervision, prompting and assistance with all aspects of personal, domestic, social and leisure activities due to cognitive and physical limitations resulting from his brain injury., ILS Case Management is the UK's leading independent nationwide Case Management company. Days & Hours: 24 hours per week available in accordance with the rota. Shifts patterns are 7am-7pm for day shifts and 7pm-7am for Waking night shifts. A typical shift would also include a 10 minute handover at the beginning of the shift. The following contracted shifts are available: Week 1: Monday 7am-7pm, Saturday 7pm-7am and Sunday 7am-7pm Week 2: Monday and Saturday, 7am-7pm Some of these hours will need to be worked by more than one person. Bank hours also available to cover for absences of the current team. Pay: Weekdays, Days and Waking Nights: £13.50 per hour and Weekends, Days and Waking Nights: £15.66 per hour.
