Feel Good Suffolk (FGS) is an exciting partnership of local authorities and wider system partners across Suffolk with the aim of empowering clients to take control of their health and wellbeing with health improvement changes including managing weight, increasing physical activity levels, and stopping smoking. We are looking for dynamic and motivational Feel Good Suffolk Advisors to provide holistic health and wellbeing support to clients accessing the FGS service. You will be required to undertake a ‘what matters to you’ client-centred assessment, build individualised support packages, refer clients to appropriate services and support, and deliver 1 to 1 and group health-based interventions. You will support and empower the client to use their skills and networks to overcome barriers and make positive changes to improve their health and wellbeing. Your role: As a Feel Good Suffolk Advisor, you’ll provide support to adults by telephone, video call, or face to face in community venues on a one-to-one and group basis. You’ll plan and facilitate the delivery of group sessions, drop-ins and one-to-one support based on the key themes of physical activity, adult weight management and smoking cessation. You will be required to assess clients, ensuring all aspects of health relevant to the client are considered, and triage into FGS or external services as appropriate. You’ll be joining a caring and enthusiastic team striving to deliver the best outcomes for the people of Suffolk. What you will need: The post holder will have a strong understanding of wider health determinants and experience of supporting people to access local services. The candidate will have experience of working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds with differing level of support system and needs and have broad knowledge on health and wellbeing issues. The candidate will be organised and able to work under pressure to tight timescales over a period of time and be a strong communicator with proven active listening skills. These roles will primarily be remotely based, utilising local community assets, but will also involve travel across the district to provide face-to-face services as well as providing client support over the phone and via our digital platform. A full drivers’ license and access to a car is essential for this role. The role will also require some evening working.
