The successful Production Support Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical expertise to support the company's production teams. This includes maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide dedicated electrical/mechanical engineering support, including reactive and proactive maintenance for automated and hand assembly production to improve equipment efficiency.
2. Resolve manufacturing issues by providing guidance, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions such as jigs, fixtures, or design and process changes.
3. Undertake basic engineering tasks to facilitate the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, such as milling, turning, and grinding of parts.
4. Test performance of equipment in conjunction with departmental setters/operators.
5. Work with the production support team to identify improvements for future equipment.
To be successful in this role, candidates should have experience in:
1. Qualified Electrician holding C&G 2330 & 2356 NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology (installation or maintenance pathway) or a prior formal industry regulated competency-based qualification, which includes technical theory with practical and competency assessments.
2. C&G 2382 (IEE Wiring Regulations 18th edition) (D).
3. Mechanical manufacturing knowledge, including milling, turning, and grinding.
4. A good knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and COSHH.
