We are seeking a Communications Manager to support our EMEA Communications team in the area of ads, partnerships, and marketing and help drive compelling external narratives about our business. This position will help tell the story of our advertising business externally and how Netflix partners with brands across the service.
The Role
A strong candidate is a strategic thinker, strong communicator and relationship builder, who can be a trusted partner and adviser to teams across multiple disciplines. This role will create and manage communications strategies, including pitches, announcements, and some executive comms. The position will play a critical role on a small team.
Overall responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to:
1. Identify impactful story angles, craft pitches, and secure stories centered around Netflix's advertising and partnership capabilities, building plans and strategies that scale across countries and empowering country teams to execute.
2. Draft communications plans, announcements, briefing materials, and messaging documents.
3. Develop and nurture media relationships.
4. Track, analyze, and circulate press coverage reports and competitive research.
5. Determine strategic and opportunistic communications initiatives, events and conferences and develop programs that will reinforce the Netflix B2B brand.
6. Strong ability to work cross-functionally to drive efforts forward.
7. Make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity.
Qualifications:
1. 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, preferably within media, advertising and/or technology industries.
2. A good understanding of the EMEA media landscape and the confidence to build relationships with journalists.
3. Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
4. Skilled in executive communications and partnership.
5. Strong project management.
6. Ability to work proactively, independently and juggle multiple tasks at once.
7. Meticulous organizational skills and effective time management.
The role will require periodic travel to other locations in EMEA.
