MBPTs primary purpose is to deliver digital services helping the Home Office achieve its ambitions. The PMO function in MBTP is responsible for supporting project delivery across the portfolio, ensuring we approach delivery in a planned and mature manner, aligning and complying with Project Delivery best practice. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced and changing environment, helping to develop MBTPs PMO function and to ensure the successful delivery of critical Products/Projects. This role within DDaT aligns to the Project Delivery profession, for Project Delivery professionals in Government. Note: The post-holder may be required to carry out other duties within the scope of the grade and within the limits of their skills, competence, and training. Key Responsibilities: Managing project controls, working with team leads to ensure all necessary reports are in place, accurately completed and submitted within the required timeframes. Supporting the identification and capture of risks, issues and dependencies, working with delivery managers to develop mitigating actions and escalating as appropriate. Facilitating workshops, as necessary. Providing secretariat function to the Governance Boards including agreeing agendas, commissioning, and distributing papers, facilitating and taking minutes. Driving quality improvements across reporting, risk, issue, dependency, and planning management. Assisting with maintaining professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, act as lead point of contact for some external parties. Providing best practice advice and guidance to stakeholders on the best use of project management disciplines, approaches, and products within a fast-paced technical environment. You may also be expected to carry out the following day to day activities: Undertaking any other grade appropriate administrative tasks to support the Project Manager and wider project team. Assisting in the finance controls of project spend and compilation of budgets. Requirements: Essential criteria Youll have a passion for project work with the following skills or strong experience in: Strong project management and organisational skills and experience, with an understanding of risk management, dependency management, governance, and administrative processes. Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into easily understandable information for different audiences. Collating and interpreting data to produce insights and reports. Being proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment, working to tight deadlines, managing priorities, and creating quality deliverables. Desirable criteria Understanding of different methodologies used in project delivery environments, such as Waterfall and Agile. Demonstrating experience of working/supporting large scale projects or programmes. Experience with Confluence and Jira.
