Our mission? To switch up the status quo and become the UK’s leading out-of-home business. With a fast-growing network of thousands of smart lockers, hundreds of leading retail partners and the launch of our InPost collection points, we’re bringing freedom to anyone with a parcel.
On our path to transforming e-commerce delivery in the UK, we’re building an unparalleled group of talent that’s hungry to help us disrupt the industry. Our team is packed full of top-notch experts in e-commerce, technology, scale-up growth, sustainability, logistics and supply-chain. We’re a passionate bunch and expectations are high, but we’re team players – collaborating, supporting, and leaving egos at the door.
About the role
We are excited to welcome a talented lawyer to our in-house Legal team at InPost UK. Reporting to our General Counsel with support from our Senior Legal Counsel, you'll be part of a supportive, down-to-earth, high-quality legal team. Your work will be highly varied - while your primary focus will be supporting our commercial teams to drive business growth across our locker network and eCommerce partnerships, you will also collaborate with other core functions and contribute to impactful initiatives across the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer looking to further develop their in-house expertise in a rapidly evolving company. At InPost, we are truly revolutionising the traditional delivery landscape through the quality of our technology, people, products and partnerships. If you're excited by the idea of being part of a business that is positively impacting the daily lives of the people around you, while having both the autonomy and support to do your best work, this is the role for you.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Business Partnering: Provide clear and practical commercial and contract advice across all levels of the business, particularly with our commercial, marketing and logistics teams.
2. Contract Delivery: Review, draft and negotiate key commercial contracts across retail partners, suppliers and our locker estate network in partnership with senior leadership and sales teams.
3. Litigation and Compliance: Support with general claims and litigation management while managing business compliance day-to-day.
4. Continuous Improvement: Critically review, refine and update precedents library and playbooks.
5. Innovation Support: Partner with the wider legal team offering advice on new product design and launches.
6. Regulatory Foresight: Stay ahead of legal and regulatory developments to ensure InPost is well-prepared for the future.
There's always more to a role than a job description! We look forward to sharing more with you should you progress through the application process.
What we need from you:
1. Legal Expertise: You’re a qualified lawyer (qualified in England and Wales or another common law jurisdiction) with around 3 years’ PQE having trained with a reputable law firm – in-house experience is preferred.
2. Commercial Acumen: You blend deep legal knowledge with a solid understanding of business dynamics, always looking to align legal outcomes with commercial objectives.
3. Contract Delivery: Stellar drafting skills and experience negotiating commercial contracts.
4. Stakeholder Management: Experience partnering with commercial teams at all levels of seniority, with the ability to distil complex legal issues into clear and actionable business advice. You build relationships through credibility and great natural rapport.
5. Resilience and Adaptability: You can navigate ambiguity with a cool head, have a high level of accountability and approach working in an ever-changing environment with humour and determination.

We are also open to UK qualified candidates based in Edinburgh who are happy with a hybrid role based 2-3 days a week at our Edinburgh office.
We’re looking for people who are ready for a fast-paced environment, get their kicks out of problem-solving and can balance getting today's stuff done, whilst building for the future. We’re looking for people with drive and natural curiosity – who want to do things differently. And do them brilliantly.
