Flourish Family Centre is currently seeking contact supervisors to oversee interactions between children/adults and their parents or relatives they do not live with and to complete observation reports for evidence-based assessments in a contact centre. This position involves facilitating child contact sessions at our Contact Centre as well as in the local community.
The Role
* Supervise sessions between a child/children and a non-resident parent, followed by writing a report.
* Ensure children are kept safe and their emotional well-being is safeguarded during contact with family members who have been assessed as posing a level of risk to them.
* Facilitate positive relationships between a child and their non-resident family members wherever possible.
* Support parents practically and emotionally to make supervised contact sessions a positive experience wherever possible.
* Recognize, report, and take steps to reduce or remove any harmful or abusive contact.
* Deliver safe and effective supervised contact sessions.
* Understand and comply with Flourish Family Centre procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare and safety of children and vulnerable adults, undertaking risk assessments before each session.
* Assess the quality of parenting observed during the supervised contact and use this evidence to complete reports as required by the court or principal social worker.
* Ensure that all supervised contact sessions are managed to ensure a positive experience for the children.
* Be willing to undertake and keep up to date with training.
* Be qualified with a Level 3 in childcare or health and social care or willing to gain one.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must possess a valid DBS and be able to provide 2 references, with one being from their most recent employer. This role is on a freelance basis with zero guaranteed hours, as it is dependent on the needs of the families. Contact supervisors have the flexibility to choose which assignments to accept or decline. Ideal candidates should have good availability, be reliable, and willing to adapt to the demands of the role, which involves work in contact centres and the community. Candidates must also be willing to attend mandatory training and staff meetings. Candidates must be able to start work from 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday.
