We are looking for a mental health nurse specialist with a passion for supporting adults with their mental health at work to join our friendly and supportive Occupational Health Team. As an experienced RMN you will have proven experience in working with adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, completing complex assessments independently and report writing as part of your role. As the lead nurse for Mental Health in the department, you will provide consultation and training to colleagues working in Occupational Health, as well as support with education for employers.
Avon Partnership Occupational Health Service (APOHS) is an NHS service hosted by UHBW, in partnership with North Bristol Trust & Sirona care & health. We provide a specialist service to the local health community in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire as well as providing services to other private and public sector organisations in the local and surrounding areas.

Main duties of the job
The post holder(s) will:
* Support and contribute to the effective provision of a high-quality Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service to Partners and external customers.
* Provide clinical expertise to maintain and develop high quality, evidence based occupational health services to Partners and external customers.
* Work autonomously and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Participate in audit and research related to the professional development of OH nursing.
* Maintain confidentiality in line with professional guidelines.
Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Significant experience in Mental Health Nursing post registration.
* Appropriate, senior level relevant experience with adults of working age equivalent to master’s level.
* Experience of researching and drafting new policies and procedures.
* Experience of contributing to and leading projects and/or training.
* Knowledge of local and national mental health services and processes.
* Teaching/Mentoring qualification or equivalent experience.
* Experience of independent assessments of clients with mental health needs.
* Experience of working in Occupational Health.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a wide range of people.
* Demonstrate good leadership skills and a flexible, adaptable approach.
* Good organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Ability to prioritise workload, achieving balance between clinical work and other aspects of the post.
* Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the mental health needs of adults in the workplace.
* Ability to travel between sites.
* Clear and effective presentation skills both orally and in writing.
* Ability to confidently use computer packages i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Ability to produce own reports.
Qualifications and Training
* Registered with NMC.
* Post graduate qualification of relevant specialty.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation.
* RGN Degree/Diploma.
