About The Role
The Role:
As a Care Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in the lives of our residents, providing care with compassion, dignity, and respect. Under the guidance of senior staff, you’ll assist residents with daily activities, including:
* Supporting with personal care such as dressing, bathing, and using the toilet.
* Promoting residents’ mental and physical wellbeing by engaging in activities, hobbies, and outings.
* Providing care to residents with chronic or acute conditions and end-of-life care.
* Assisting with meals and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
* Building meaningful relationships with residents and their families.

Essential Skills:
* Excellent communication skills in English.
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* A warm and compassionate approach to providing care.
* A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and promoting equality.
Desirable Experience:
* Previous experience in a care environment or providing personal care.
* Awareness of dementia care or experience in this area.
* A qualification in care is advantageous but not essential – we provide comprehensive training.

About The Company
Guild Care, a not-for-profit charity established in Worthing in 1933, was founded by a group of visionary volunteers, including Effie Methold, E.A. Haviland, Arthur Linfield, and Frank Cave. Their shared mission was to create a kinder, more compassionate society, leading to the creation of the 'Worthing Council of Social Service,' which then became the 'Worthing Area Guild for Voluntary Service,' and is now known as Guild Care.
Over the decades, Guild Care has grown and evolved, continually adapting to meet the needs of Worthing and its surrounding communities. Today, the charity supports over 3,000 people and their families each year through a diverse portfolio of more than 30 community services.

Desired Criteria
* Experience of working in a care environment
* Experience of providing personal care
* A qualification in care
* Previous experience in Dementia Care/demonstrates awareness in Dementia
Required Criteria
* The ability to communicate well in the English language.
* The ability to read, write and carry out basic mathematical calculations.
* Satisfactory DBS Check
