Waites Recruitment Consultancy LTD are actively seeking a Retail/Commercial Site Manager with good experience in the Construction sector for a fantastic client we are working with. Our client is looking for an experienced Site Manager. The role will be nationwide with some working away from home required.
SITE MANAGER:
To manage a site or section of the site, covering the daily activities of the site team, to achieve successful completion in line with Company expectations and the deadlines/targets issued by the Company. To develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and other third parties in the best interests of the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee all site activities.
2. Monitor progress against the programme taking remedial action and advising the senior management team where appropriate of risk and/or potential risk to the project.
3. Ensure the effective close out of projects and project reach practical completion with zero defects and no snags.
4. Monitor and inspect the quality of work to ensure high standards of quality are achieved throughout and address any issues with the relevant trades.
5. Keep up to date and complete site records in line with Company, Health, Safety and Legislative requirements.
6. Safeguard the Company's contractual position, ensuring contract terms are understood and adhered to.
7. Work closely with the Commercial team to monitor the financial status of the project, identify solutions to problems and improvements and organise activity to deliver these.
8. Report any variations to the commercial team.
9. Manage prelim, plant and labour costs within budget.
10. Manage the performance of direct and sub-contract labour, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.
11. To manage the communication of all necessary information.
12. Fulfil responsibilities as required by the Project Manager and Senior Management Team.
13. Ensure our HSE standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
14. Take corrective action on any breach of policy to ensure a safe site, free of accidents and incidents, at all times.
15. Responsible for the safety of the public, when working in a live environment.
16. Co-ordinate the activities of different sub-contractors to ensure work is carried out efficiently and oversee performance to ensure work is completed on schedule and to the right standard.
17. Understand the information flow from supporting project team to ensure absolute adherence to approved details, drawings and specification on the Site.
Skills/Experience
1. SMSTS training card or equivalent required.
2. HND/HNC in building studies preferred.
3. CSCS card required.
4. Experience in the retail or redevelopment (“cut and carve”) sectors will be beneficial.
5. Trade background will be beneficial but not essential.
6. MS Office competence required.
Salary/Package
Negotiable dependent on the right candidate. Weekend/Night working shall be paid at a premium rate. Company vehicle shall be provided along with all travel arrangements. Discretionary bonus system may apply to the right candidate.
