An exciting opportunity has emerged to join our expanding team in Research and Innovation at Pennine Care. Enhancing our research capacity and capability is a key focus in our Trust's Research Strategy. With the rapid growth of development and sponsorship efforts within the department, we are now seeking an individual to oversee and manage this growth.
The Sponsorship & Development Manager will lead and manage the sponsorship team to ensure that PCFT-sponsored studies comply with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and its legal requirements. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of high-quality PCFT-sponsored research. The post holder will provide training and guidance on research processes across the Trust, offering expert advice to researchers, clinicians, research practitioners, R&I, and other Trust staff on all aspects of trial management, from protocol development to archiving. Additionally, the post holder will lead on Research Development at PCFT, supporting staff in creating high-quality grant proposals and funding applications to external organizations. The role also includes fostering research partnerships and collaborations, particularly with the Trust’s academic partners and industry collaborators.

Sponsorship
• To ensure the Sponsorship quality management system is relevant, proportionate and up to date.
• To ensure compliance with PCFT Sponsorship systems, SOPs and Policies.
• To ensure staff are supported in the development of research protocols and associated documents.
• To ensure staff are supported on regulatory submission and internal review of research studies.
• To provide training as appropriate to clinical and administrative staff on Research Sponsorship & Development.
• To be responsible for maintenance of the R&I database for Sponsored research studies.
• To provide relevant data to oversight committees as required and attend to report on same.
• To liaise with Trust collaborators and 3rd party contractors for sponsored studies.
• To represent the sponsor and attend Study oversight meetings as required.
• To build on the good relationships with external agencies, sponsors and CRO’s involved in research within the Trust, communicating often complex and contentious information with authority and tact.
• To work closely with the Research Funding Manager to ensure financial probity and appropriate contracting of Sponsored research.
• To support the Pharmacovigilance reporting service for Sponsored studies.
Development
• To sign post staff to relevant research opportunities.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of research within the Trust.
• Assess and evaluate the progress of research development by implementing systems and processes to ensure that that local and national R&D targets are met.
• Safeguard the interests of research participants by ensuring that study designs take account of relevant legislation, guidance and policies.
• Provide advice and support to other members of staff with regards to research governance.
• Support the development of key Trust research initiatives.
• Develop and establish research relationships with academic and NHS partners.
• Deal with external enquiries and requests for information
• Develop a plan and implement activities to raise the profile of research to staff, patients and other stakeholders, evaluating its effectiveness and adapting accordingly.
