An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a qualified or final year trainee Advanced Practitioner (ACP) to join our expanding team. We are seeking an enthusiastic ACP to come and join our acute medical SDEC team at Fairfield General hospital. MSc in Advanced Practice essential, and experience in Acute Medicine, ED or other urgent care setting is desired.
Our unit is staffed by ACPs and Junior Doctors who work independently with support from our acute medical consultants. We accept referrals to the unit from ED, GPs, and NWAS. The unit is open 8am till Midnight 7 days a week. Working pattern is generally long days with protected non-clinical time, and we are open to negotiation of shift times (where possible) to ensure a positive work-life balance.
You will be supported in clinical practice by our acute physicians, clinical lead, and our ACP lead along with the wider team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide service assessing, treating and decision making for patients attending the Fairfield General SDEC service. The post holder will support in the coordination, education, and mentorship of all staff members within the department.
Within this clinically focused role, the post holder will practice autonomously and independently providing exemplary patient-centred and evidence-based care to patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. The post holder will be supported to gain the necessary skills in procedures to aid the diagnosis or treatment of these patients and conditions.
The post holder will provide expert clinical and professional support within the team demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills and clinical attributes.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Registration
* Clinical based Master's Degree
* Post basic qualification in specialty
* Non-Medical Prescriber (Independent)
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2) or AHP with current HCPC registration
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Experience within specialty at a senior level
* Evidence of advanced professional/clinical knowledge within specialty supplemented by specialist clinical training and CPD
* Effective communicator able to communicate complex and highly sensitive information
* Evidence of effective people management and leadership skills
* Evidence of involvement in policy and practice change
* Evidence of proactive involvement in the mentorship and development of nurses and nursing practice
Skills & Abilities
* Can demonstrate assertiveness, tact and diplomacy appropriately.
* Computer Literacy
* Demonstrates specialist expertise underpinned by theory acquired through CPD
* Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols and clinical audit
