About this job
We are looking to recruit for Work Placements to support our audit services team during the summer months.
These are short, fixed-term roles and will provide successful candidates with the opportunity to undertake meaningful and interesting work supporting the audit of town and community councils and other local government bodies.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about the public sector, who may be studying for an accounting and finance qualification and are looking for experience in an external audit environment; but a relevant degree isn’t necessary. The ability to follow processes, work as part of a team, and have strong discipline and motivation to operate within a hybrid working environment is essential. A good sense of initiative and excellent communication skills are also key.
Who are Audit Wales
We’re the independent public sector audit body within Wales; our unique role is to assure the people of Wales that public money is being well spent and to inspire the public sector to improve. Our work is having a real impact on local communities; some of our recent national work has looked at fuel poverty, COVID-19, homelessness, and climate change.
Working for us
Audit Wales is a fun and friendly place to work, with an incredibly supportive culture. We’re passionate about working in the Welsh public sector and making a difference to local communities. At Audit Wales, we genuinely care about our people and about providing an environment that encourages a positive work-life balance.
We are a proud Working Families employer and have Living Wage accreditation; our generous annual leave allowance, family-friendly, and flexible working policies are just some of the reasons why we’re a great place to work.
We are growing a diverse workforce that is representative of the communities we work within and the skills, experiences, and perspectives they will offer and welcome applications from people from all backgrounds.
