Position : Phonics Learning Assistant (Level 3) Location : Durham Hours : Part-Time, Mornings Only Pay : £12.90 - £13.50 per hour Start Date : After the Easter Holidays Teaching Personnel is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced and qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Durham. This role is based in the school’s EYFS department, primarily supporting nursery-aged children with their phonics development. This part-time role focuses on mornings only but has the potential to transition into a full-time position for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Small Group Instruction : Deliver targeted phonics sessions to small groups of students requiring additional support or enrichment. Preparation of Materials : Create and organize engaging phonics activities, games, and resources to support learning in the classroom. Phonics Assessments : Administer and record assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas needing intervention. Collaboration with Teachers : Work closely with teaching staff to implement differentiated strategies that meet the varied needs of students. Requirements: Level 3 Qualification in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent. Proven experience working with phonics instruction in an EYFS or KS1 setting. Strong behaviour management skills and a passion for supporting children’s learning and development. Familiarity with the EYFS National Curriculum.
