This will involve carrying out the statutory assessment and EHC plan review process, ensuring children and young people are placed and supported suitably in line with relevant legislation In the role of a SEND Casework Officer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children and young people under assessment for EHC plans and a cohort of children and young people with EHC plans already in place Our SEND Casework Officer are the first point of contact for families, providing excellent customer service and demonstrating good interpersonal skills in order to foster and maintain positive and effective working relationships with families and professionals As the SEND Casework Officer, you’ll be working in partnership with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people as well as experience of working as part of a team, including multi-agency teams You, the SEND Casework Officer must be able to work under your own initiative on a specified caseload and as a part of a wider team to statutory timescales and deadlines and be expected to use all aspects of IT including Microsoft Office Suite You, the SEND Casework Officer will have excellent mediation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure in addition to extensive experience of casework, including supporting families and legal challenge Our SEND Casework Officer must have working experience and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the Children and Families Act 2014 and all associated legislation including SENDIST regulations is required Our offer to you: 35 hour working week with hybrid working model At least 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays rising to 32 after 5 years service (pro rata if part time) - option to purchase further days Agile working - A “Flexibility First” approach to Agile working where flexibility is the norm rather than the exception.
