Post-Mortem Technician
A challenging role awaits in the high disease containment post-mortem team, as part of the Pathology and Animal Sciences Department.
This is a unique opportunity to support the crucial work of an agency tackling disease and ensuring animal health throughout the UK.
About the Role
You will provide vital assistance for ante and post-mortem examinations of large animals and poultry through sampling and humane euthanasia using appropriate methods.
Assist with locating and sampling tissues as required by experimental protocols, and ensure safe transfer and submission of samples from the post-mortem room to relevant laboratory facilities, adhering to Good Laboratory Practices.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need experience working in a scientific environment, dissection/anatomy skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, motivation, and proficiency in common software applications.
A BTEC HNC/BSc degree or equivalent technical qualifications in biological/biomedical/bioveterinary science are also required.
