We are recruiting on behalf of a small school in the Derby area that is looking for a passionate Intervention Teaching Assistant. This is your opportunity to guide students through academic and personal challenges, empowering them to achieve success in their education and life. You will support children with special needs who require additional help. The students you'll be working with have SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), SEBD (Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties), and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges. Your Role: Academic and Emotional Support: Offer both academic mentoring and emotional guidance, helping students feel confident and capable in their learning. Tailored Mentoring: Use personalized strategies to support students who may struggle with schoolwork or personal development. Tracking Progress and Reporting: Regularly monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers to ensure mentoring plans are effective and responsive to students’ needs. Collaboration with Staff and Parents: Maintain regular communication with teachers and parents to ensure the continued success and well-being of each student. Re-engagement with Education: Positively encourage students to re-engage with education, building strong, positive relationships along the way. Qualifications You Will Need: Teaching Assistant Level 1, 2, or 3 Child Care Certificate Education Degree (or similar qualification) Health and Social Care Level 1, 2, or 3 Other related qualifications will also be considered.
