Your role
You will be covering 4 sites; 2 sites in Poole and 2 sites in Dorchester
Overview
Provision of all round engineering support and maintaining the buildings at the site. Have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Services systems and contingency procedures within the buildings and ensure compliance with all contract procedures and that all Local Authority, Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practise in particular the Fire Certificate and operational processes are followed to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
Responsibilities

Ensure all building activities comply with Health and Safety standards and maintain 100% uptime as per contractual obligations.
*
Maintain shift-manning levels and ensure efficient response to plant failures and abnormal conditions.
*
Operate building systems competently, including HV operations, in a safe and efficient manner.
*
Oversee Specialist Service Provider worksheets, ensuring quality work and escalating recommendations as needed.
*
Ensure effective shift handovers, covering plant status, isolations, issues, ongoing work, and housekeeping standards.
*
Manage the economical ordering of parts and ensure accurate quotations and requisitions.
*
Maintain high housekeeping standards across engineering control rooms, plant areas, workshops, and rest areas.
*
Assist in holiday planning and staffing to ensure trained staff are on site during each shift.
*
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and address issues related to housekeeping, maintenance, and work performance.
*
Ensure tools, equipment, and key inventories are up to date and calibrated for smooth operations.
*
Follow local processes, procedures, and escalation protocols.
*
Maintain a strong understanding of installed services within the building and remote sites.
*
Perform controlled switching of UPS, Generators, HV, and LV switchgear for maintenance or failure recovery.
*
Complete all record-keeping functions daily, including shift changeover logs, helpdesk task updates, and safety checks.
*
Issue, close, and inspect work permits and safety documentation (e.g., HV, LV, risk assessments, safety logs) when contractors are involved.
About you
*
Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all building services, particularly BEMS, UPS, generators, static switches, water treatment, refrigeration, and air conditioning.
*
Hold C&G Pts. 1 & 2 or equivalent in an electrical/mechanical discipline.
*
Be 18th Edition trained.
*
Have 5 years of experience in the Building Services industry.
