Equate Scotland is a national expert policy, research, development and advocacy organisation, with a focus on womens under-representation within the science, engineering, technology and the built environment industries. We are hosted by Edinburgh Napier University and are based at the Edinburgh Napier University Craiglockhart campus.
We work in collaboration with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) sector, academia, statutory and third sector bodies, and the Scottish Government. For effecting a tangible and sustainable change, enabling more women to study, work and progress in these key sectors.
We believe in creating an inclusive and enjoyable place of work, and welcome discussions on flexible and hybrid working opportunities.
As part of our ongoing focus on the delivery of a high-quality service to the STEM sector and academia, we are currently recruiting a part-time Training and Network Engagement Coordinator to design and deliver a programme of activities in line with the objectives of Equate Scotlands student network.
The Role:
The role of Training and Network Engagement Coordinator is a rewarding role that will give you the opportunity to use your experience of project, service, and event coordination, as well as your ability to establish and manage positive relationships, to play a lead role support for STEM students across Scotland.
Your experience of building and coordinating networks will serve you well, allowing you to take measures to develop the only network for women studying science, engineering, technology and built environment at Scotlands Colleges and Universities, in turn supporting, developing and championing women students who can often feel isolated in a male dominated classroom.
Furthermore, your knowledge and understanding of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion best practice will allow you to effectively support students across their academic journey and help prepare them for a transition into industry.
We anticipate that you will be passionate about creating viable, long-term opportunities for students working in STEM so this post will give you the opportunity to make a real difference, as you support the Training and Development Manager and the training team in developing and delivering training resources and activities which deliver on Equates objectives.
