I am working with a lovely SEN school in Portsmouth, who are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs. The school fosters an ethos of care, respect, and positive reinforcement, empowering each child to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role:
As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will:
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of children with SEN, including those with autism, learning disabilities, and other complex needs.
* Develop and implement effective strategies to support children’s learning, communication, and social development.
* Work closely with a team of dedicated Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an individualized learning journey for each child.
* Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes independence and builds self-esteem.
* Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure consistent support both in and out of school.
Requirements:
* A fully qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
* A strong understanding of SEN, including experience working with children who have a variety of needs.
* A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to develop individualised learning plans and track progress.
* A commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students.
