Senior BMS Design Manager – London Area – £75,000 – 90,000 My client, a leader in Building and Energy Management Systems (BEMS), is seeking a Senior BMS Design Manager to oversee their design team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced design professional to take ownership of a dynamic department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative BMS solutions. The Role: As the Senior BMS Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design team, maintaining high standards in design documentation, and driving forward industry-leading solutions. You will play a key role in overseeing project designs, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with the company’s objectives. Benefits Package: Competitive salary: £75,000 – 90,000 Pension: 4.5% after 3 months of service Life Insurance: 4x annual salary Private Medical Insurance Critical Illness Cover 26 days holiday (3 reserved for Christmas) plus bank holidays Holiday entitlement increases to 28 days plus bank holidays after 5 years of service Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the BMS design team, ensuring high standards in all deliverables. Oversee design documentation, including equipment schedules, points lists, and operation descriptions. Conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards. Liaise with main contractors, trade contractors, and senior management to ensure seamless project execution. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design managers and junior engineers. Attend project handovers and design meetings, supporting collaborative working practices. Work closely with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance with technical specifications. Identify design variations and communicate them effectively to the project manager. Maintain commercial awareness, monitoring project design hours and identifying additional work opportunities. About You: To be successful in this role, you will have: A proven track record in managing BMS design teams or large-scale construction project designs. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services. Experience with BMS platforms such as Schneider, Distech, Tridium, and Delta. Excellent ability to review and refine designs, ensuring technical and commercial feasibility. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook. A CSCS card (preferred but not essential). Desirable Skills: Knowledge of IT networks and topologies. High-level understanding of cloud-based technologies. Familiarity with smart building concepts and standard naming conventions.
