Job summary
The Black Country Integrated Care Board, would like to offer a new and exciting developmental role as a Cancer Involvement Specialist to work with the Black Country ICB Cancer team, based in Wolverhampton place, liaising with our local GPs, primary care and other local stakeholders, to improve awareness of screening programmes and signs and symptoms of cancer .
The post is an ideal opportunity for a Band 4 or 5 to embrace a 12 month fixed term contract, to learn and grow their personal talents, whilst developing their aptitudes and skills as an involvement specialist.
The hours will be either 30 or 35 hours dependant on experience and would be an ideal opening for a secondment post.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to work on their own initiative and manage their own workload, this will require project management and organisational skills and be able to facilitate a qualitative and quantitative performance monitoring framework and method of collating performance information that can be used to report the progress of the projects to stakeholders.
The post holder must be able to effectively communicate information to a wide range of groups, including senior managers, medical staff, public and patient groups, and external stakeholders. Ensuring personnel issues are dealt with a sensitive and confidential manner.
The post holder must be able to facilitate the Cancer Champions in the planning and delivery of a range of events, for example cancer promotion events, improvement and implementation of the DES guidelines, that will need to take place across Wolverhampton.
Provide ongoing support for Primary Care Cancer Champions .
Lead the delivery of a communication plan to raise awareness of, promote and share information about the work of the programme.

Job responsibilities
1. To support the Cancer Programme Manager in the ongoingdelivery and recruitment of Primary Care Cancer Champions including thedelivery of the quarterly forums.
2. To maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and empathetic approachwhilst working in challenging situations within primary care.
3. Ensuring that there are strong, inclusive, and empoweringmechanisms for robust patient and public involvement and engagement recognisingwhere barriers may exist and negotiating solutions to overcome them. Workingclosely with local health inequality leads, community project teams to supporthealth inequality agenda.
4. Support a range of colleagues and teams from across secondarycare, voluntary sector and primary care colleagues to ensure that the portfolioof tasks/projects reflects appropriate engagement and consultation should thatbe required which is planned, managed and delivered effectively
5. Support and inform the targeting of resources, (including theordering of relevant leaflets and literature) monitoring, implementation andevaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support includingcomplex information and analysis of local data.
6. Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination witha range of organisations and individuals, researching and draftingcorrespondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, leadreporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions andprojects
