Press Tool Setter £32,000 - £35,000 Monday – Friday (Days) Accrington BX2 are recruiting for a Production Planner for a well-established client based in the Lancashire area. Press Tool Setter Skills, Experience, and education required: Previous experience as a Press Tool Setter Experience of setting manual and automatic press machines Ability to follow instructions and production specifications Awareness of health and safety regulations Press Tool Setter Key Responsibilities and Duties Pre-operational safety checks: Ensure there are no slip or trip hazards present in the work area and walkways Locate and ensure the ON / OFF starter and emergency stop buttons are working Check the machine guards are in position and operational. The press must be inspected and signed before the operator is allowed to operate the machine. This must be repeated after a 4-hour period of operation Any machine with the “do not use” sign must NOT be switched on until the press is inspected and signed to say the machine is ready for production. Only trained personnel can sign for the machine safety checks The rear pillars on the die sets must be lubricated before the tools can run. Failure can result in tool damage Check that the Press lighting is working and adequate for the task A signed 1st off sample must be placed within the press area for the operator to adhere to Faulty equipment must NOT be used – Switch off, isolate at source and report immediately any machinery that you suspect is faulty Operational Safety Checks: Keep clear of moving machine parts. Keep hands and fingers clear of trapping points Switch off the machines at the end of the shift Check the product quality. All products must be inspected 1 in 25 for scratches, dents, debris marks, pain defects, curl backs, mis-fed sharp edges. A first off sample must be visible and signed for before machine can be operated. When stacking onto pallets take care not to drop onto existing tins as this can cause dents All finished pallets must have an inventory label fully filled in and securely wrapped before the pallet can be moved Report any concerns to the Product Engineer Remove scrap from trimming tools, leave machine and the work area in a safe, clean and tidy state Any oil spillages must be cleaned up and disposed of using soiled oil mats and putting in correct area Adhere to equipment safety procedure and all safe systems of work
