The Opportunity:
Are you our next HVAC Engineering Manager? We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for our Engineering operation.
What is the role?
The core purpose of this role is to deliver a safe, efficient and resilient primary and secondary HVAC asset base. Ensuring that HVAC systems deliver to meet stakeholder expectations, and that the asset base is managed in accordance with all relevant regulations. The role will also play a pivotal part in our decarbonisation of heat program providing system knowledge and acting as the conduit between our HVAC team and Construction delivery teams.
What you'll be doing
1. Lead and develop HVAC engineering teams of highly skilled Technicians to deliver objectives and meet departmental targets.
2. Ensure optimal performance of asset base including performance improvements to improve system availability.
3. Drive EH&S culture across all teams to reduce incidents & promote a safe working environment.
4. Produce effective communication and reports to all stakeholders including other GAL departments, airlines and retailers.
5. Manage asset running costs and repairs by effective contract management to ensure operational budget is met.
6. Contribute and assist with the management of the Utilities budget.
7. Accountable for ensuring their departments planned and corrective work is always completed on time, to a high standard with minimal impact to the operation.
8. Drive maintenance efficiencies through implementation of new technology and continuous improvements.
9. Lead and take the HVAC team through the migration from Gas boilers to new technologies that meet our decarbonisation of heat goals. Ensuring the team are trained and ready for the assets going live into the operation.
Do you have what we're looking for?
1. Experience in leading a team in an Engineering environment focusing on innovation and operational excellence.
2. Proven knowledge & understanding of working with unions and employee relations engagement.
3. Educated to HNC level or relevant experience.
4. Strong understanding and proven experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
5. Good working knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and regulatory and statutory compliance (e.g. PSSR, Gas safe, electrical, confined spaces, hot works, etc.).
6. Experience of working with a CMMS and asset management processes including planning, KPIs (including CSS), PDRs, and asset management/replacement.
