Job Title: Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
My client is a leading engineering consultancy, renowned for delivering high-quality Electrical Services Design solutions. They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Services Design Engineer to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and ensure excellence in design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Services Design:
- Contribute to the delivery of Electrical Services Design on assigned projects.
- Maintain and enhance the quality and efficiency of design and post-contract implementation.
2. Client and Team Interaction:
- Represent the organisation through direct client contact and collaboration with design team members.
- Occasionally represent the company at meetings in both Electrical and Mechanical Services disciplines.
3. Project Management:
- Apply and enforce office procedures and basic engineering principles.
- Manage multiple projects and oversee the work of Assistant and Apprentice Engineers.
- Develop Concept Designs as part of the RIBA Stage 2 & 3 Design Process.
- Prepare scheme design drawings from concept to detailed design.
- Provide input to Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports and understand the commercial framework for projects.
4. Detailed Design (RIBA Stage 4):
- Develop Electrical Services detailed design.
- Oversee design work by junior engineering staff and ensure quality standards are met.
- Understand project deadlines and client briefs.
5. Software Proficiency:
- Use CAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, PV Sol, Manual Calculations, Chorus, Word, and Excel.
- Develop the abilities of Assistant and Apprentice Engineers in using these software packages.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Degree qualified and working towards chartered status.
2. Demonstrated success in a Graduate Electrical Engineer role.
3. Project management, delivery, and quality assurance skills.
4. Strong client-facing and interpersonal skills.
5. Initiative-driven with problem-solving abilities.
6. Valid UK Driving Licence (preferable) and willingness to travel for meetings and projects.
