It is expected to be a centre of excellence in inclusive education, underpinned by our child-centred approach and informed by evidence-based practice. The Specialist Unit is an additionally resourced provision which provides adaptive learning opportunities, reduced class sizes and additional resources to support learners effectively. It will cater for students with an EHCP with a primary need of cognition and learning. The support offered by the unit allows for the students on roll to access mainstream classes and integrate as much as possible into school life. This post may have some one to one responsibility each week and may involve time across the school in other classrooms outside of the unit.
