About the Role
Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a small, well-regarded secondary school in Trafford on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping to engage students in their lessons and achieve in line with their targets.
As this is a temporary-to-permanent role, you will initially be employed through Teaching Personnel, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent contract with the school following a successful ‘probation’ period. The position is full-time and offers the chance to work in a supportive, collaborative environment with a close-knit team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
As a Science Teacher through Teaching Personnel, your duties will include:
Teaching and Learning:
• Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
• Ensuring all lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEN, EAL, and higher achievers.
• Encouraging students to develop a passion for science through creative and effective teaching methods.
Assessment and Feedback:
• Regularly assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
• Maintaining accurate records of student achievement and using data to inform lesson planning and interventions.
• Setting and marking homework assignments to reinforce learning.
Classroom Management:
• Creating a positive and respectful learning environment that encourages student engagement and promotes effective learning.
• Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to maintain focus and discipline in the classroom.
The Ideal Candidate
Teaching Personnel is looking for a motivated and committed Science Teacher with the following qualities:
Qualifications & Experience:
• A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) and a degree in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
• Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• A strong subject knowledge in science and a passion for helping students engage with the subject.
Skills & Attributes:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Strong classroom management skills to ensure a focused and productive learning environment.
• A creative approach to lesson planning and teaching, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
• A proactive and positive attitude, with a commitment to contributing to the wider school community.
