Process Chemist
Permanent and 12 months temporary roles available.
The Process Chemist provides process chemistry expertise to the site's manufacturing processes and operations. You will contribute to the resolution of technical issues having process chemistry dimensions and make decisions and recommendations using your knowledge, collaborating closely with the other disciplines within MSAT (manufacturing, science and technology); analytical chemistry and process engineering.
As a site MSAT process contact, the job holder will be the custodian of the chemistry process and provide a point of focus for all other functions on site relating to that stage and/or product. Close co-operation with manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Quality and Regulatory is essential.
The Process Chemist will engage with the supply chain MSAT organisation both through customers and suppliers to ensure the chemistry process provides API of robust quality for input to drug product formulation and that technical issues potentially impacting on supply are properly understood, escalated and managed.

In this role you will
1. Provide support to site functions to enable day to day manufacture, inform decisions on non routine matters and ensure adequate design and commissioning of new plant and processes.
2. Take technical ownership of API / material & provide technical input to customer sites.
3. Assume ownership and continuous improvement responsibility of product-related processes in line with cGMP, including ongoing maintenance of Process Guides, batch document templates, Technical Risk Assessments, Product Control Strategy throughout its commercial life, including ongoing data trending and review.
4. Support technology transfer for respective products from R&D into manufacturing and subsequent transfers to other sites.
5. Support global regulatory change and compliance.
6. Be responsible for the documentation of product / process development history post launch, including Periodic Product Reviews where appropriate.

2. Analytical ability to diagnose situations and develop solutions.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively across functions and interact with and influence individuals including those where a direct reporting relationship does not exist.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:
1. Demonstrated depth/breadth of knowledge in process chemistry aspects of API support.
2. Manufacturing experience.
