Job Summary
We are seeking a junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team with a basic knowledge of quantity surveying in the construction industry, including an ability to follow drawings, details and specifications. The ideal candidate will have an excellent attention to detail, organisational and numeracy skills whilst being confident in their own ability, responsible and able to meet challenging deadlines on a daily basis.
We are looking for a confident communicator to engage with all members of staff and clients, including having excellent interpersonal skills; maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers, have a personable character and a smart presentation.
Duties
1. Working alongside the Commercial team and assisting the surveyors/estimators with their day to day duties.
2. Accompany the surveyors on site visits when required.
3. Measuring and 'quantity take-off' both from drawings and site visits.
4. Helping to produce bills of quantities.
5. Assist with the compiling and submission of monthly applications.
6. Attend client meetings alongside the relevant Surveyor and Senior Management.
7. Checking and approving sub-contractor invoices.
8. Liaising with site teams where necessary.
9. Pricing variations where necessary.
10. General admin duties where required.
Experience
1. Preferably GCSEs in both Maths and English.
2. Sound commercial acumen.
3. Efficient Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe) is an advantage.
4. Full clean UK driving licence is preferred.
5. Own transport is preferred.
