About the Role:
Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a medium-sized residential care home in Stoke-on-Trent. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality care for residents, ensuring that all care standards are met and exceeded, while also leading and developing a dedicated team of staff. You will be responsible for the overall management of the home, including regulatory compliance, staff management, and resident care.
You will be required to:
1. Manage and lead a team of care staff, ensuring they are well-supported, trained, and motivated to provide the highest standards of care.
2. Ensure the home is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements, including Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
3. Develop, implement, and review personalized care plans for each resident, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
4. Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff to maintain a strong, capable team.
5. Manage the home's budget and resources effectively, ensuring operational efficiency and cost management while maintaining high standards of care.
6. Handle any incidents, complaints, or issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring the well-being and safety of all residents.
7. Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and external agencies, promoting a collaborative and transparent approach to care.
8. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure the home operates to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
1. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
2. Proven experience in a senior management role within a residential care setting.
3. In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards.
4. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and external professionals.
6. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
7. Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centered care and improving residents' quality of life.
Desirable:
1. Experience in managing a medium or large residential care home.
2. Previous experience with budget and resource management.
