We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Hewell, a category B remand prison based in Redditch, Worcestershire. HMP Hewell has a fast-paced healthcare environment delivering care to males aged 21+, with a range of needs including substance misuse and long-term conditions. Within this role, you will be working closely with our senior nurses to deliver reception care which includes first night prescribing, discharge prescribing, urgent follow-up for duty doctor, and Substance Misuse prescribing. We are looking for a General Practitioner who is a team player and enjoys working in a busy environment where no two days are the same.
Hours
Monday- Friday 5-10pm
Saturday 1-5

Salary
This position is part-time, and you'll receive an annual salary up to £130,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, allowing you to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice or A&E environment.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients' requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
* Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team on-site, as well as to the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
