We have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaning Operative to join our dedicated team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre. Gatwick IRCs comprise Brook House and Tinsley House Immigration Removal Centres. Gatwick Pre-Departure Accommodation (PDA) is a small, discreet facility annexed to Tinsley House that provides short-stay accommodation and support to families with children under 18 years of age. Serco manages and delivers operations at both centres on behalf of the Home Office. By joining our Cleaning Services team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all assigned areas are cleaned to the highest standard using the provided equipment. You will also keep schedules updated, maintain records of tools, and carry out any other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager or Senior Engineer. Your Responsibilities Maintain cleaning stock within designated areas. Comply with Health & Safety Cleaning Procedures. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and wet vac machines. Clean all assigned areas according to the Cleaning Schedule. Complete additional duties as directed by the Facilities Manager or Senior Engineer. What You’ll Need Previous cleaning experience is essential. A Basic Health & Safety qualification. Ability to operate cleaning equipment. Strong communication skills to interact effectively at all levels. A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to self-motivate and prioritize workload.
