Teaching Personnel are looking for new Learning Support staff to support within an alternative provision near Bodmin.
The schools across Cornwall support up to 500 pupils each year ranging from Year 1 to Year 11. Pupils that we work with often have complex needs and as a result of this don’t currently attend mainstream or special schools’ settings. Our aspiration for all pupils is that we can support them to return to a specialist or mainstream settings and our focus is providing our young people with the skills necessary to make this transition successful.
As our Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor, you will:
1. Support the learning of our pupils in care across our bases.
2. Work outside of the normal classroom environment, including off-site work, to encourage our students to learn.
3. Assist teaching specialists in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
4. Provide care and support enabling young people to thrive.
5. Help implement behavioral coping mechanisms that assist our young people in making good choices and reflecting on their actions.
6. Provide academic support for the group or young person you will be working with.
You will be at the forefront of making life-changing differences to a group of young people who deserve the same high level of education as their peers.
If you have good communication skills and a desire to help make a difference to young people’s lives, we would like to hear from you. For this post, we do require you to have a full driving license and access to transport.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
