This leading manufacturer is looking for an Environmental Manager to lead environmental best practice and improvement initiatives for a cluster of sites. You will be responsible for supporting with and leading on implementing environmental strategies to promote sustainable development. Description This role gives you the opportunity to be the driving force behind identifying improvement opportunities and leading the sites in embedding a culture of change. You will be leading on environmental initiatives and work with the wider group to deliver sustainable change. Develop and implement environmental strategies to meet corporate sustainability goals. Lead indirect teams to deliver the functional elements of Environmental Management across the manufacturing sites; advising the business at all levels to achieve the best balanced outcome for the business and the environment. Influence the group's environmental strategies, procedures and guidelines to achieve environmental targets, bearing in mind each site's objectives. Proactively anticipate how internal and external changes could affect the business and implementing countermeasures or negotiating change programmes when needed. Audit all aspects of the management system to ensure delivery of requirements. Promote and manage the culture of continuous environmental improvement. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up-to-date with new legislation and standards. Develop environmental policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Liaise with relevant bodies such as local authorities, the public, and environmental groups. Profile An HSE/Environmental Manager with proven experience, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution operation. The successful applicant will also have the following: Ideally an IEMA Membership or environmentally biased degree qualification Significant experience leading environmental compliance and sustainability Proven ability of operating to and maintaining ISO14001 In depth knowledge of environmental legislation and the practical business implications Good comprehension of modern safety practices with a thorough understanding of UK environmental legislation Proven ability in developing and delivering effective environmental compliance, strategy and improved performance Job Offer Base salary in the range of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.
