We are seeking to recruit into registered nurse posts within the critical care units at both Hull Royal Infirmary site and Castle Hill site. Recently at our Hull Royal Infirmary site a new £8m Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been opened.
This is a busy area and we are looking for motivated and enthusiastic nurses to join our dynamic team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and you need to demonstrate the ability to be forward-thinking and passionate about delivering a high standard of care. This is a rotational post between the Hull Royal Infirmary Hospital ICU and Castle Hill Hospital ICU to develop a full range of skills and be supported with in-house training.
We have a comprehensive training package including one-to-one bedside training, bespoke boot camps, and ongoing support from our own team of Clinical Nurse Educators. You will be supported to complete the Foundation in Critical Care Course and the National STEPS Programme. Opportunities to complete Post Graduate Critical Care Programmes at higher education institutes are available.

Main duties of the job
1. Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
2. Checking symptoms and vital signs
3. Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based nursing care
4. Administering intravenous medication or different types of medication
5. Recognising deterioration in the physical or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate action / escalation
6. Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations
7. Checking and using specialised equipment such as monitors and ventilators
8. Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations
9. Recognising limitations and escalating concerns
10. Assisting in the development of students
11. Working as an effective team member and promoting team and interdisciplinary relationships
