Located on the outskirts of Salisbury and Amesbury in Wiltshire, the site spans over one thousand acres and boasts two operational runways - including the longest military runway in the UK. QinetiQ, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, has operated the airfield and its infrastructure since 2001. There are extensive facilities to undertake a wide range of test, evaluation, demonstration and consultancy programmes. It is also the home of the world's first test pilot school (ETPS) that provides world-class training for flight test professionals of both civilian and military customers. The Role As a Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineer, you will deliver maintenance across all aspects of building services. The successful candidate will require a strong knowledge of building systems across all disciplines, with a key competency in either electrical or mechanical maintenance. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for: Providing maintenance support (including installations; planned, preventive & corrective maintenance) in relation to site services, plant/equipment & buildings Delivering specialist technical maintenance support & services in relation to building plant/equipment Forming part of the on-call rota within the maintenance team Ensuring robust application of health, safety & environmental procedures & processes Overseeing the conduct of contractors on site; monitoring the implementation & performance of tasks allocated This role is full time. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30, however a compressed hours 9-day fortnight schedule can be adopted. Essential experience of the Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineer: Proficient in fault finding and diagnostic abilities on components Experience in planned maintenance to Services and Facilities Group 20 (SFG20) standards Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basis Must be able to demonstrate a full and thorough understanding of operational health & safety and safe working practices Competent computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, MS Teams), and the ability to learn new software systems Qualifications for the Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineer: C&G, BTEC level 3, ONC/OND or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical & electrical discipline Must have a valid driving licence Please note that all applicants must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
