Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of Carpentry programmes.
* Ensure all teaching is in line with awarding body requirements to promote student achievement.
* Develop and maintain teaching materials, including handouts, assignments, and electronic resources.
* Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
* Carry out moderation, assessment, and verification processes.
* Support students in integrating Maths and English into the vocational curriculum.
* Provide tutorial guidance to students, track and review their progress, and communicate feedback to learners, parents/guardians, and employers.
* Arrange and support students’ work placement opportunities.
* Assist in student recruitment, admissions, and promotional events to raise awareness of College and Faculty activities.
* Participate in curriculum development, course reviews, and evaluation processes.
* Maintain industrial links and professional development within the Carpentry and Construction sector.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and College procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Industry experience within the Carpentry and Construction sector.
* A minimum Level 2 vocational qualification in Carpentry.
* Ability to deliver inspirational teaching to learners of varying ages and abilities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Commitment to student success and development.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
Desirable:
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
* Experience in assessing and verifying vocational qualifications from working as a Lecturer / Tutor / Trainer / Teacher / Educator / Professor / Instructor or similar
* Familiarity with integrating core skills such as Maths and English into vocational learning.
