Senior Lecturer in Nursing Apprenticeships (Clinical Learning)
Fixed term contract until July 2025, 0.5fte, 18.5 hours per week.
About this role
This is a unique project role which will be centred around becoming a Senior Lecturer in Nursing within our new and innovative School. You will work closely with NHS/Primary care and private health care partners to promote engagement with quality assurance compliance from the regulators and across relevant work-related learning experiences, associated research, and ensure our developing apprenticeships become embedded in the School.
As a Senior Lecturer in Nursing, you will work with colleagues in the Clinical Education department in the NHS Sussex Integrated Care board to continue our expansion activity in apprenticeships from the School of Nursing and Allied Health. Your focus will be to contribute to the development of a collaborative partnership/network which will enhance apprenticeship clinical learning for both Nursing and Allied Health, particularly Speech and Language. You will enable primary care/SLT providers to join the collaboration, ensuring engagement that aligns with the necessary NMC/HCPC and apprenticeship requirements.
About you
Ideally, candidates will have knowledge, experience, and skills within the field of Apprenticeships and Nursing education, alongside extensive partnership liaison experience. You need to be a current Registered Adult Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Council and have demonstrable expertise in innovative, effective, and inspirational teaching and learning for students.
The successful candidate will be motivated, proactive, and engage in collaborative working both as a team and with wider partners. We aim to equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we focus on the acquisition of caring science knowledge, as well as vital transferable skills such as compassionate leadership and robust digital skills.
About the team
You will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible, and aspirational. You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, employing excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that are student-centred, inclusive, and flexible. We are a top 40 UK University that prides itself on our sense of community, including an excellent staff experience.
