Job Title: Electrical Certification Manager
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, 37hrs p/w
About the role
BSI has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Certification Manager to be based at either one of our testing labs in Loughborough or Hemel Hempstead. Reporting to the Testing Team Manager, you will be playing a pivotal role by working closely with our testing team and our clients, where you will be responsible for the effective management and development of a portfolio of Certification Schemes within the Electrical stream (EMC and IECEE CB Schemes), delivering high-quality, “right first time” product evaluation, achieving client satisfaction and achieving commercial targets.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prioritise and supervise work to ensure all certification applications are processed timely and effectively.
2. Review technical reports.
3. Make certification recommendations.
4. Deliver projects and maintain project plans accurately for business finances and revenue forecasts.
5. Represent BSI’s interests with external bodies as required.
6. Identify new and/or amended product standards/directives and ensure BSI’s certification schemes are up to date.
7. Work closely with the Sales Team, clients, and test laboratories to assess client enquiries and develop appropriate programmes for new certification projects.
8. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with current and potential clients.
9. May act as account manager for several key clients.
10. Global travel where required to support business development growth and client certification requirements.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
1. Detailed knowledge of International, European or British Standards and/or other relevant documents and procedures.
2. Expert knowledge of relevant product-related legislation and European Directives.
3. Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical subject.
4. Knowledge of quality requirements in international good-practice documents.
5. Experience of EMC Compliance Testing/Directives and/or IECEE CB Schemes would be a major advantage.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Customer-focused and solution-oriented.
8. Excellent organisation and planning skills.
9. Familiarity with office IT systems.
10. Experience in monitoring budgets and maintaining cost control.
