Production Quality Engineer
Location: Wallingford
Salary: Dependent on Experience
Our client is a leader within a niche industry in Engineering, currently recruiting for a Production Quality Engineer to join their growing team!
Production Quality Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Provide effective quality control from goods inwards inspection through to the final inspection stage.
2. Develop a strategic Goods Inwards QA Inspection process to ensure incoming materials meet drawing standards.
3. Ensure the capture, reporting, and resolution of all quality-related non-conformities is undertaken efficiently and timely.
4. Maintain and update the company Quality Assurance database (NCR) with the overall target objective of reducing both internal and external non-conformities.
5. Liaise with the supplier quality engineer and other stakeholders to communicate quality defects affecting production, with timely resolution.
6. Provide feedback of quality data to production teams through regular meetings, highlighting areas for improvement.
7. Provide information for quarterly reports on QA performance.
8. Uphold Company HSE standards and be involved in on-site H&S audits.
9. Ability to travel and visit suppliers and conduct both internal and external QA audits as required.
10. Support in Final Inspection and moulding inspection as required.
The ideal Production Quality Engineer will:
1. Have a minimum of five years previous experience in a similar QA role within a fast-moving production environment.
2. Hold a relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree, or ONC, A Levels, BTEC Diploma Level 4 or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualification.
3. Possess problem-solving skills such as 6S or 8D.
4. Have understanding and experience of robust QA/QMS procedures.
5. Demonstrate strong knowledge and application of FAIR, PPAP & FMEA.
6. Have knowledge of ISO9000.
7. Understand ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices.
8. Understand engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
9. Understand cost and financial impacts.
10. Membership of a professional body (advantageous).
11. Professional qualifications (advantageous).
