Assistant Patient Administrator - Band 2
Maternity and Ante-natal clinic on the West Middlesex Site
We are recruiting a Band 2, Assistant Patient Administrator. We are searching for high-performing, enthusiastic, and empathetic individuals to work in the Maternity and Ante-natal Unit on the West Middlesex Site. The post holders will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare to patients. You will be expected to provide administrative support to a diverse team, including clinical staff, and have a positive attitude towards cross cover within the Department, showing the ability to be a team player. The successful applicant will be expected to provide an excellent level of customer service at all times in line with the Trust values.
Working Hours: Monday - Sunday 8am - 8pm including bank holidays on a rota basis. Applicants must be able to work all the shifts.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare to patients by supporting and welcoming patients into services in a way that meets their individual needs. The Patient Administrator will also provide administrative support to a team, liaising between patients, doctors, practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. The staff member will work consistently to provide high-quality customer service and will be professional at all times. The postholder will be required to work in all of the following areas, providing cross cover where necessary:
* Labour Ward
* Main and Ante-natal Reception
* Community
* Back Office

Job responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the clinical team in the team assigned and provide cover across the Trust's administrative resource.
* File all paperwork appropriately.
* Provide cover across the POD as and when required.
* Ensure all procedures are followed regarding data capture for service-specific outcomes.
* Provide an excellent standard of service to patients at all times.
* Adhere to trust-wide standard operating procedures and policies developed for clinical administrative processes and participate in their development.
* Photocopying, filing.
* Greeting relatives as they enter the ward.
* Booking follow-up appointments.
* Booking transport.
* Reception duties.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
* GCSE's.
Experience
* Previous administrative experience.
* Experience of working within customer-driven service.
Skills & Knowledge
* Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
* Good organisational skills in order to plan and prioritise workload.
