Purpose of the role:
To ensure the highest quality of work and maximising productivity of the Warehouse. Maintain a smooth and organised operation with hands on approach, looking for continuous improvements in order to drive efficiencies. Maintain and oversee inventory and supplies by managing the “Goods In” and “Goods Out” process.
Responsibilities
1. Managing both inbound “Goods In” and outbound “Goods Out” stock.
2. Monitoring quality and service levels daily.
3. Assist with the control of aged stock levels.
4. Ensuring all orders are picked and packed as per specific customer requirements.
5. Work with the Stores Manager to meet specific KPI's for the Warehouse.
6. Proactively track inventory levels and report to Stores Manager.
7. Ensuring stock rotation is proactively managed and recorded FIFO (first in first out).
8. Assist with ordering new supplies in a timely manner.
9. Constantly work to improve processes and efficiencies.
10. Make suggestions for productivity improvements.
11. Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained and report any issues to the Stores Manager.
12. Ensuring everyone is working in line with H&S Requirements.
13. Assist the Stores Manager to train, guide and evaluate new warehouse workers.
14. Assist the Stores Manager with the stocktake process.
15. Actively participating in the risk assessment, accident investigation, operational inspections and behavioural monitoring processes to ensure a safe workplace.
16. Processing returned parts on jobs.
17. Assist with returns to manufacturer under warranty or core charges.
18. Assist Stores Manager with review of stock to ensure increased accuracy and availability for first time pick.
19. Preparation and picking of parts for workshop and mobile jobs.
20. To work with wider team/departments, specifically Parts, Service and Workshop to ensure collaborative working.
21. Ensure a tidy work environment.
22. Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.
23. Coach and develop team to ensure they thrive for excellence, addressing any training and development needs.
24. Motivate and reward team to encourage behaviours within department, which support the values of Terberg MPM and the wider group.
Critical Skills Required:
1. Communications skills, both verbal and in writing, together with the ability to communicate at all levels.
2. Responsive to a fast paced Warehouse environment.
3. The ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
4. Excellent organisation and prioritising skills.
5. Computer literate with the ability to utilise stock management systems.
6. High attention to details.
7. Ability to effectively supervise a wide range of people.
8. Flexibility to support and collaborate with other departments.
9. Ability to manage inventory.
Critical Knowledge Required:
1. Knowledge of stock control management including FIFO.
Qualifications and Experience required:
1. Previous experience supervising / managing a busy warehouse.
2. Forklift Operation Licence to include: FLT Counterbalance & Reach FLT.
3. Maths and English GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
